Lower Level

Bio Skills Laboratory

TRIA’s sophisticated Bio-Skills Laboratory provides doctors, residents and fellows hands-on training in the latest orthopaedic techniques. Advanced technology and full connectivity throughout TRIA impact how doctors learn about and successfully treat injuries and disorders. As opportunities to teach arise in the surgery center or clinic, doctors-in-training learn both by watching and following live procedures as they are broadcasted into the laboratory.

By having the Bio-Skills Laboratory on-site, you and other orthopaedic patients benefit as doctors from around the world refine their skills and apply new techniques. As doctors work smarter, procedures become more streamlined and effective, and patients get back to their active lifestyle more quickly and safely.

TRIA Orthopaedic Research Institute

The Bio-Skills Laboratory shares space on the lower level with the TRIA Orthopaedic Research Institute where research and education staff members conduct clinical outcome studies. These studies are part of an ongoing effort to keep research relevant to today’s most common musculoskeletal conditions and help drive the highest-quality care, methods and technology. This research is extremely important as these problems impact patients of all ages and functional needs, ranging from children to athletes (young and aging) to elders. In fact, over 40% of visits to primary care physicians are for musculoskeletal conditions.

Outcomes research is comprehensive, patient-focused and measures what is often of greatest concern to the patient. TRIA’s integrated outcomes research program measures the treatments we provide everyday and how these treatments affect patient function. We focus this research on enhancing how we return patients to their daily life.
